Dear Colleagues,
I am looking to get hold of recent case studies of digital health technologies which demonstrate the triple bottom line is fulfilled - pathway changes would great and ones which show patients' prefer it even better! I am hoping to be able to highlight (in a presentation) at the HTAi Annual Meeting to colleagues that it is possible to reduce environmental impact, be preferable to patients and be financially beneficial too.
Many thanks in advance of your help!
Kind regards
Mel
Hi Mel, have you looked through the SusQI case studies in the resource library, shortcut https://networks.sustainablehealthcare.org.uk/case-studies-susqi ? You should also be able to filter by "digital transformation" theme, although that relies on the person posting the case study having ticked that box...
Hi Mel, this is Siyam, a 5th year med student, I've looked at some of cases in the resource back and found some that may be helpful.
1. https://networks.sustainablehealthcare.org.uk/resources/green-nursing-c…
This case uses an App ( ISLA) to allow for remote sharing of clinical information in patients with Long-Term conditions to allow to remote triage. It led to £26,000 in savings in over 4 months!. It ultimately was more practical for both patients and carers as it prevented unnecessary home visits and allowed for early interventions thus preventing complications. -> avoided potential admissions.
2. https://networks.sustainablehealthcare.org.uk/resources/surrey-and-suss…
This one is more of a pathway change. This tackled unnecessary follow up from ED to fracture clinics. It involves a system change -> Virtual ward, which allowed for safe discharge of patients and prevented 12,957 unnecessary visits.
There are 16 cases with the filter -> (SusQI + Digital Transformation), some more relevant than others. You can find them below with this link.
