Last week saw the publication of the new COT Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.  It includes the following quote from section 2.4.2 under 'Resources and sustainability':

"You should work as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible in order to sustain resources. Practitioners are encouraged ‘to re-evaluate practice models and expand clinical reasoning about occupational performance to include sustainable practice’ (WFOT 2012); for example, considering the health and wellbeing co-benefits of a low carbon lifestyle (Sustainable Development Unit 2014)."

The references here are for the WFOT position statement on environmental sustainability, which is available from their Resource Centre, and the Sustainable Development Unit strategy for the health and social care system.
