Health Care’s Climate Footprint: How the Health Sector Contributes to the Global Climate Crisis and Opportunities for Action.

This report co-produced by Health Care Without Harm and Arup is useful because it:

  • Establishes the first global estimate of healthcare's climate footprint. (If the healthcare sector were a country, it would be the fifth-largest greenhouse gas emitter on the planet)
  • Identifies the key sources of healthcare's care's carbon missions and allows for comparisons between countries and regions
  • Makes recommendations on what must be done to align global health and climate goals

Some media coverage is here:  The Guardian, India Express, Bloomberg, the British Medical Journal
