Environmental champions are being sought for every anaesthetic department in the UK and Ireland. The volunteer roles will be supported by the Association of Anaesthetists, which will provide regular updates, resources and advice. Champions will also be encouraged to register on this Sustainable Operating Theatres Network to find out about one another, share ideas and discuss challenges.
The scheme is being set up through the work of Cathy Lawson as the first Association for Anaesthetists and CSH Fellow in Environmentally Sustainable Anaesthesia, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals.
