How can a visual guide support high quality and low carbon asthma reviews?

Jennifer Nixon

What should we focus on during asthma reviews with our asthma patients? How can we move from a series of questions to a conversation? What will help them understand their condition better, take their preventer inhaler, and use the right inhaler for them? How can we integrate lower carbon options in a conversation focussed on optimising disease control?

A one-page visual aid to support a person-centred asthma review has been produced to support healthcare professional with these questions. It has been developed by Greener Practice C.I.C., and endorsed by Greener NHS, The Primary Care Respiratory Society, The Association for Respiratory Nurse Specialists and Asthma and Lung UK. In our next Sustainable Respiratory Care 'sharing hour', on Tues 30th April, we'll hear from lead author Dr Aarti Bansal about the reasons for creating the resource, how she hopes it will be used, and what other resources people may find helpful.

As always, after the presentation there will be plenty of time for questions, and to share your own experience, ideas and feedback.
