How to look after the Orchard at your NHS site

Harriet White
Harriet White

This is the second of two webinars from NHS Forest and The Orchard Project about creating an orchard at your NHS site. This webinar will focus on how to look after the fruit trees in the first few years, including mulching, formative pruning and dealing with common pests and diseases.

Although this webinar is essential watching for applicants to our NHS Forest Orchard scheme, it is open to any healthcare professional who wants to learn more about looking after fruit trees. There will be a presentation followed by plenty of time for questions.

The webinar will be delivered by The Orchard Project, the national charity dedicated to creating, maintaining and celebrating community orchards. It will be hosted by Chris Macefield and Fergus Walker who have worked with many community groups to plant and maintain community orchards, and who also teach on TOP’s accredited Level 3 course in community orchards. The webinar will begin with a presentation followed by plenty of time for questions.

If you missed our first webinar on planning the orchard and want a copy of the recording, or if you have any specific questions that you would like us to cover (please check they haven’t been covered in session 1) then contact Hattie White Harriet.white@sustainablehealthcare.org.uk.
