A study has found that Bradford's clean air zone has reduced air pollution and saved the NHS approximately £30,700 monthly in its first year. The zone led to a 25% decrease in GP visits for respiratory illnesses and a 24% decrease for heart problems. Nitrogen dioxide levels from traffic also decreased. The benefits were seen city-wide, attributed to residents upgrading vehicles. This study supports the idea that clean air zones can improve health and provide value for money.
