Renal replacement therapy has a significant impact on the environment as various natural recourses are consumed, hazardous waste is generated and chemical substances are being used. To address this issue, EDTNA/ERCA has formed a working group together with B. Braun Avitum AG. The goal of this joint project is to promote Green Excellence in the field of dialysis therapy and contribute to the sustainability of renal care. To accomplish these ambitious goals, we need to increase the level of awareness for the problem within the renal care community and introduce various educational materials.

With the introduction of an environmental checklist available as web-based App, we have created a method for renal care centers to evaluate its own environmental performance and seek areas for potential self-improvement through the implementation of the environmental management programs. You have now been given the opportunity to evaluate your environmental performance. Please check which answers to the questions brought you positive points and which did not. Answers that have not brought you positive points may indicate that you need to focus on improving these areas. Change your practices and complete the checklist over time to see developments over the time and improved environmental performance.
