I was asked to contribute a health-related article for a special Green Infrastructure themed edition of Town and Country Planning, the journal of the TCPA.
This is the outcome. It is driven largely from my personal experience of working with communities and individuals on green space projects, but it would be great to hear some perspectives from clinical audiences as to its relevance and/or usefulness in your area of practice.

One of the things I am constantly lobbying for is a framework as robust as BREEAM for external works. Landscape is always in the firing line in value engirneering processes and NPPF just doesn't give commissioners andplanners the tools with which to defend good GI!
Great article, Ben. At our university, we are having discussions about how to go beyond BREAAM, drawing on frameworks such as the Well Building Standard and Living Building Challenge. Specifically, we are keen to embrace a commitment to 'regenerative' or 'restorative' sustainability and 'salutogenesis' (i.e. looking beyond the 'reducing the negatives' to a more positive approach that focusing on thriving and flourishing.
