Call for Applications: Become a KitNewCare Associate Pilot Site

KitNewCare is a pioneering EU co-funded project dedicated to making kidney healthcare more environmentally sustainable. We are now seeking EU and UK kidney centres to join the project as Associate Pilot Sites. If your centre is committed to improving sustainability, efficiency, and innovation in kidney care, we invite you to apply.

 

What Are KitNewCare Associate Pilot Sites? 

Associate Pilot Sites are kidney centres that formally participate in testing and refining sustainability-focused solutions developed within the KitNewCare project. 

You can apply to test either one or both of the following: 

  • Organisational and workflow optimisations 
  • A newly developed kidney centre benchmarking tool 

As an Associate Pilot Site, your centre will benefit from: 

  • Early access to tools, methods, and training designed to improve sustainability 
  • Opportunities to help shape the final benchmarking tool and other solutions 
  • Implementation support and e-learning resources 
  • Connection with other sites and KitNewCare partners for networking and knowledge sharing 
  • Recognition and visibility as a centre leading sustainable kidney care

 

What’s Involved? 

Centres may take part in one or both of the following activities: 

1. Implementing KitNewCare Optimisations 

  • Select two or more workflow/organisational optimisations for replication 
  • Plan and implement these changes with guidance from the KitNewCare team 
  • Collect and share relevant data (with full data-protection compliance) 
  • Document your experience as a case study 
  • Complete short questionnaires and optionally take part in a focus group to share your centre’s experience of the implementation process. 

And/or 

2. Piloting the KitNewCare Benchmarking Tool 

  • Test the benchmarking tool by responding to the tool’s data input questions on health outcomes, social impacts, environmental impacts and costs. 
  • Provide structured feedback on the benchmarking tool via a feedback survey, interviews, and a workshop. 
Ethics & Publications 
  • Centres must participate in obtaining local ethics approval (or waiver) and subsequent approval through Trinity College Dublin (typically 1–2 months). 
  • All outputs will be jointly published with KitNewCare and must be open access.

 

Who Can Apply? 

Kidney centres across the EU and UK. To ensure a diverse network, selection will consider: 

  • Geographical spread 
  • A range of experience levels in sustainable kidney care (from limited to advanced)
