The Office of the Chief Allied Health professions officer in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Office are looking at ways to reduce unnecessary use of couch roll. The use of couch roll, as well as having a significant financial cost, results in tonnes of clinical waste, which is largely incinerated. The Offices of AHP and Nursing would be extremely grateful if you could complete this survey to help understanding of its use.

Great - have shared at the RUH, Bath. One of our teams (Endoscopy) recently stopped using blue couch roll for some of their procedures and instead simply wipe the couches in between patients. Great to share this good practice and easy quick win.
It would be great if we can share this in https://networks.sustainablehealthcare.org.uk/infection-prevention-cont… as we have been thinking about how to promote appropriate use of couch roll. We will be really interested to hear the outcome of this too!
When I went to fill in teh survey, I found that in Q2, there was no option for setting that roll is used in to be secondary care outpatients clinic, or medicine - so had to tick 'other' - wonder if this is worth feeding back?
