I am a 2nd year SLT undergraduate and my choice of research project this year is Forest School and the role of the SLT. I am interested in how outdoor therapy could contribute to the sustainability agenda through encouraging pro-environmental attitudes and empowering clients to be part of the climate change conversation. I think Forest School could be used as a setting for paediatric intervention and collaboration with Forest Schools could help support speech and language development. I wondered if others are having similar thoughts and whether we could connect

Hello - the team in Hackney Speech and Language have done some things with Forest School before - this is really old but there are still ongoing projects too: https://gethackneytalking.co.uk/forest-school-explorations-at-hackney-m… If you send me an email i can pass the info along

Please get in touch if you need some support with your project, I'm happy to assist you. Im a F2 Doctor currently doing part time research in Green Social Prescribing :). My email is isobel.austin2@nhs.net
Thank you!
I love this idea. I am an SLT working with adults so unfortunately can't help but maybe if you post this again under the SLT network you may get even more responses .

Thanks so much, that looks really interesting. I would love to do something like this when I qualify.
Hi again Annabelle. I've been corresponding with Bulletin about putting something in the next issue and they wondered if there is any more information about the NHS intervention in Hackney Marshes?
