Improvements

Hi all, we are currently in the process of decreasing our plastics use and I'm looking for assistance. It has been discussed as to why we are not using tap water for irrigation and flushing instead of sterile water. I wondered how many of you have moved to this method already?
We currently offer plastic bags to patients for their belongings and I was met with some backlash from colleagues when I suggested removing/decreasing the use of these. Do you advise patients to bring their own bag or what do you all currently do? I feel we should be moving away from plastic bags!

Hello,

My name is Sarah and I work in ELHT Endo. I have brought up the use of sterile water usage recently and hit a brick wall. I was told by Olympus that we must use sterile water, for the scopes.
The plastic bags - we had the same issue. I have tried to find an alternative - proved difficult. I have some information from another trust - if you'd like to email me - sarah.couch@elht.nhs.uk we could have a chat about it?

Take Care
