We are pleased to introduce the team from Wrexham Maelor and Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospitals, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales, who will be joining the Green Surgery Conference November 4th as one of the Green Surgery Challenge finalists.
The multidisciplinary team was led by Mr Prash Jesudason and Mr Preetham Kodumuri, Consultant Hand and Orthopaedic Surgeons. The team concentrated on the carpal tunnel release pathway as it is the most commonly performed procedure in the field of hand surgery. Their project included reducing the consumption of single-use surgical equipment, reducing energy consumption by moving out of the operating theatre, reducing the size of autoclave trays by streamlining reusable surgical sets, and eliminating the need for ward admission.

Join us at the free, online, Green Surgery Conference to learn more about each of the Green Surgery Challenge projects, including how much carbon was saved. You will have the opportunity to join breakout sessions to scale and spread the challenge's initiatives, gain valuable insights from the panel of judges at the Judging and Awards Ceremony, and network with other members of the surgical community who are interested in sustainable surgical practice.
