More than thirty trusts promoted walking aid return and reuse schemes during National Recycle Week (17th – 23rd October).

Increasing the return rate of walking aids such as walking sticks, frames and crutches that are for reuse over the next three years could reduce NHS carbon emissions by 7,400 tonnes of carbon, equivalent to 281,397 car trips from London to Bristol, and save taxpayers money.

Over 200 sites are currently featured on the Recycle Now website.  If you are thinking of setting up a scheme, join our lessons learned drop-in session on Monday 31st October from 12-1pm -  Link to Teams meeting.

Email us at england.ccf-sustainability@nhs.net if you would like to be sent an invite.
