Hello All,
I have recently joined Bristol Children's Hospital and have found that they haven't heard or or implemented the Kidzmeds project in the trust. I have done the e-learning and have listened to the podcasts at https://www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/kidzmed/ and I am now hoping to get this project started in BCH.
Does anyone who has worked on implementing this in a trust (outside of Newcastle) have any reflections they could share on that process? It seems there is a supportive cost-savings manager and a pharmacist who I have met with already but are there other key stakeholders I should be contacting?
Any comments/thoughts/reflections welcomed,
Thanks
Rosie

Hi Rosie. I teach sustainability at UWE Bristol to nursing students. I can implement this into the undergraduate curriculum in the year 1 module we run covering this.
Hi Rosie, great that you're thinking of doing this. The Newcastle KidzMed team is always happy to support other hospitals wanting to roll the programme out so please get in touch if you'd like to speak to us about your project. Thanks, Emily (emily.parker16@nhs.net)
Hi Rosie, don't have any wisdom about this but have done the training and forwarded to our paediatric nursing and pharmacy teams and hope we can adopt and implement. Thanks for raising the profile.
Do you know of any easy to access carbon comparisons for tablets versus liquids. Didn't see any in the teaching resource.
Hi Helena, the KidzMed team has been working on some comparative carbon footprinting for liquid vs capsule/tablet medicines. Abstract coming soon in Archives of Disease, and hopefully the full paper later this year. Will post on here when published.
