In partnership with Public Health England (PHE), the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) has been awarded funding from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to create a Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) on environmental change and health. The HPRU will facilitate world-class research to support rapidly evolving public health and health protection policies relating to climate change, land use change, adaptation and mitigation (low carbon) development. The HPRU provides opportunities for students to undertake a research that will feed directly into national policy making.
Funding is available for 2 full-time PhD studentships to start in the academic year 2014/2015. Studentships will be for three years. PhD 1: Modelling the Health Benefits of Low Carbon Development, PhD 2: The Health Benefits of Ecosystem Services
