Hi all, Has anyone come across any "personas" that have been developed for sustainable actions by role? I'm looking to empower anyone in my hospital to take meaningful action tied to their role without having to involve the central sustainability team. I'm thinking simple, one-pagers with links out to relevant case studies or papers/evidence base.

Hi Lisa,
We haven't considered this to date but as an anaesthetist, I am very aware that many anaesthetists involved in sustainability work seem to share certain traits.
I would be very interested to hear responses.
Have you looked at UKHACC resources - there is general guidance there for what everyone can do but maybe they also have some for 'personas'
Thank you Sue!
Hi Lisa
This is what I used below - I didn’t specify roles just made a call out for people who cared about the ESG agenda, wanted to make a difference, were excellent communicators and knew their hospital site and teams well. Happy to catch up if helpful too. Lucy
A Green Site Lead at xxxx UK plays a vital role in embedding sustainability across all aspects of site operations. Their remit extends beyond carbon reduction to encompass a broader sustainability agenda, ensuring alignment with the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.
Key Responsibilities:

• Effective Communication & Engagement: Act as a key advocate for sustainability, clearly communicating initiatives, inspiring staff to take action, and fostering a culture of environmental and social responsibility.
• Collaboration & Best Practice Sharing: Be an active member of the national green forum. sharing learnings, successes, and challenges to improve ESG performance across all sites.
• Environmental Impact Reduction: Share projects with your SLT for implementation at site to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, manage water usage, and enhance waste reduction and recycling efforts.
• Sustainable Procurement & Supply Chain Influence: Share initiatives with your SLT on sustainable products and to reduce single-use consumables.
• Biodiversity & Green Space Management: Encourage and inform the SLT of site-level initiatives such as green spaces, biodiversity projects, and nature-friendly landscaping to enhance patient and staff well-being.
• Social Sustainability & Community Engagement: Working with your SLT collate your site’s local community projects, improving health & well-being initiatives, and engaging staff in social value activities.
Skills & Attributes:
• Strong communication and leadership skills to engage colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to drive change and influence sustainable behaviours.
• Passion for environmental and social sustainability.
This role is critical in ensuring xxxxx commitment to sustainability is actively implemented at the local level, contributing to both operational efficiencies and long-term environmental and social benefits.
I understand this as asking what meaningful action can people take independently... and if that is what the core request is... then surely it is taking on the work of addressing overdiagnosis ( and overinvestigation) and over prescribing. The data shows that 10% of drugs prescribed are not used as planned ... or at all and though it is harder to find evidence on the impact of overdiagnosis we all know that a lot of diagnosis is to keep the clinicians happy ( or to reduce perceived risks of medical negligence issues) rather than to address the concerns of the patients
