New Format integrating co-leads meeting and Networking meetings in one!

Presentation:

Sivan looking at the CSH Tools, how to search for them and how they can be used by SLT’s-see attached presentation.

Lots of really useful resources for us and to use ourselves and when signposting leaders within our services. Of particular interest to the attendees was:

  • Roadmap for Sustainability for OT’s-could we create one for SLT?
  • Can we inform and enable access to information about sustainability and making sustainable choices for our service users who have communication difficulties via the creation of a leaflet?

How Bad are Bannana’s book -Sivan highlighted the readability and useful information in this book.

Change Now Event in Paris-attended by Aditi blog to follow.

Aditi highlighted the AWorld App-free for individuals, AWorld Sustainability App | Your Guide for Living Sustainably it calculates your carbon footprint. Also suggested the following questions as a good starting point individually for living more sustainably.

  • What sustainability goals can you pick for yourself?
  • How do you hold yourself accountable to these?

Government DHSC consultation on tackling major conditions priorities for the next 5 years. Major conditions strategy: call for evidence - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) All can contribute to this consultation and in particular highlight sustainability as a priority e.g. prevention, access to green spaces, investment in SLT services in order to achieve reduced hospital. Lean service provision. admissions/prescription of medications etc.

Plan-Please can all SLTsusnet members help out with this!!!

All- To develop accessible leaflet about sustainability and have a look at RCSLT DHSC Major conditions consultation and add to it.

Next session:

Thanks Talie! I will add that for if anyone is interested in calculating carbon related to travel, there are several easy to use resources on the CSH website (travel to and from appts is a major part of NHS carbon footprint ). A lot of SLTs started to work remotely due to covid (and the evidence base for this grew exponentially). If your team is establishing a pathway for remote working, it is easy to measure environmental outcomes too.

Good question - not as far as I'm aware but I've not actually used these tools so could be wrong. Also there are several different tools so it's possible that some of them DO consider this. It's a worthy consideration though...
