The Guardian reports on how a website is helping those with mental illness rebuild their lives. This website is called 'Connect and Do'. It helps users to connect with other people, do something fun, and build relationships. It has two elements. First there is a website that promotes social activities across Lambeth, such as fitness clubs and spiritual groups, which can bring people together through shared interests and a desire to meet new people. Second, local organisations can map their services on the website to create opportunities accessible to everyone. This initiative will promote community cohesiveness and hopefully keep people better for longer as they will be involved in the community and develop good relationships. Both these factors are part of what it means to improve sustainability in mental health services.
