It would be good to utilise this article for internal hospitals IPC discussions around gloves use in future.
It would be interesting to know how different this is from current local guidelines, if at all. The statement is clear on when gloves should NOT be used, e.g. portering, feeding a patient, etc. - to what extent are gloves being used in this situation and if they are, what interventions do we need to put in place to support improvements to practice?
Great position statement that supports sustainability and waste reduction whilst ensuring staff and patient safety.
