Understanding sustainability challenges for endoscopes

I’m putting together an industry report on sustainability within endoscopy, particularly focusing on reusable and single-use plastic endoscopes. To ensure the findings reflect real challenges in healthcare settings, I’m looking for input from those working directly with these devices.

I’d welcome any feedback on the sustainability issues you encounter—whether related to packaging, cleaning/decontamination workflows, or end-of-life pathways such as disposal and recycling.

There also seems to be growing attention in healthcare on the topic of microplastics, though the level of clinical or environmental concern isn’t well defined in respencts to endoscopy devices. Any insights on this would be very valuable.
