Your expertise needed; Exploring Heat and Impact on Mental Health Research

Hi all, my name is Shiwei — an MSc Public Health student at LSHTM, a clinician in background and currently conducting my thesis research on how extreme heat affects people living with severe mental illness.

This study aims to build an evidence base to inform the Greater London Authority (GLA) on how to better protect and support this vulnerable group during heat events.

• Emergency responders
• Community Organisations
  Working in community mental health, secondary/tertiary services, or outreach settings.

I'm interested to hear about your experiences during heatwaves and your thoughts on how services, infrastructure, or policies could be adapted to meet the needs of individuals with severe mental illness in the current warming climate.
