Greener AHP Week: Health Benefits of Green Spaces

Jacqueline Gordon

Presentation: Health Benefits of Green Spaces

Join Dan and colleagues as they explore the benefits, evidence and practical implementation of integrating nature into healthcare to optimise patient recovery and community health.  Find out more about the NHS Forest scheme which provides free trees for NHS sites.

Dan is the Green Space for Health Project Lead at the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare (CSH). He has spent the past decade managing and delivering environmental and health projects across the UK, bringing about nature’s recovery and connecting people from all walks of life with green spaces. He is a part of the Green Spaces team at the CSH and manages the NHS Forest Trees Call to Action Fund programme which is around supporting and advising NHS sites to improve their estates for biodiversity, climate and human health.

This Greener AHP week is an opportunity to:

  • share projects and ideas for AHPs to get involved
  • raise awareness of the links between health and climate change, the NHS net zero ambition, and the shifts required to build a Greener NHS programme, nationally and regionally
  • support each other and grow networks
  • consider what a greener NHS might look like and what the benefits can be for us all.
