Occupational Therapy Susnet Event: Benefits of Cycling to OT Access Visits

Marty and a colleague used bikes for access visit to assess patient's homes for discharge from hospital. They used the Sustainable Quality Improvement Framework to look at the impact of this in terms of time, costs and carbon. The results were good on all fronts; no adverse effects on patient care, and huge benefits particularly on staff wellbeing, health and carbon savings as well as cost savings for the Trust.

Finally got time to watch this, so good to see the QI process in action, the quantified benefits and the vision! 🌳🚵 :)

Thank you - we are developing our SusQI modules at the University of Tasmania, Australia. Via the recorded presentation on YouTube, we will use this as an example in our teaching and learning .

Brilliant work and will help inform our ongoing work here in North Devon. We have recently introduced 3 eBikes into our community rehab teams to help reduce car travel and emissions. We have a lot of extensive road closures over this summer too and so saving time on attending visits! Thanks for sharing :)
